On November 20, 1968, the coal mine in Farminton, WV, exploded, trapping 78 miners inside. For ten days, rescuers battled fires and methane. When all hope was lost, on the day after Thanksgiving, they sealed the mine. The 78 men were still inside.
In the short, Rev. Bob Duncan struggles to comfort the miners' loved ones. In the feature, the entire community struggles to cope.
